Product Overview: A non-lithium chloride liquid rheology additive suitable for water-based, solvent-based, and solvent-free systems.
Regulatory requirements are continuously increasing, not only for new products but also for existing ones. For example, it is anticipated that in the near future, all products containing...0.3%(within the EU) or0.1%(Outside the EU) All lithium chloride products must be labeled with the reproductive toxicity hazard symbol, meaning the addition ofH360FWarning notice. For many years, BYK has consistently and proactively developed alternatives within our existing product portfolio to meet future regulatory requirements. Under this strategic framework, we have recently introduced three new liquid rheology additives based on urea compounds, which are distinct variants of known thixotropic agents. The mechanism of action for the lithium chloride-free version of the product is highly similar, though not entirely identical. By substituting stabilizers, the new additives have achieved a lithium chloride-free formulation. Similar to existing products, they can impart strong thixotropic flow characteristics to the system and significantly reduce sagging and settling tendencies in application systems.
