PRODUCT DETAIL
AQUACER 1541
Product Introduction
Brazilian carnauba wax emulsion is used to enhance the surface properties of water-based can coatings.
Wax additives are commonly used in can coating systems to enhance the surface properties of the coating, such as by reducing the coefficient of friction and improving scratch and abrasion resistance. These wax additives can be supplied as organic solvent dispersions, water-based emulsions, or in micronized powder form. Due to the presence of organic solvents, wax dispersions can affect the volatile organic compound (VOC) content of the formulation, which is undesirable in many water-based coating systems. Additionally, the use of biocides is not permitted in food contact applications.
AQUACER 1541 is a carnauba wax emulsion that lowers the friction coefficient of water-based can coatings and markedly improves scratch resistance. It is well suited to water-based systems with very low co-solvent content and does not harm gloss or transparency. It meets food-contact requirements, contains no biocides, and uses bio-based materials.
In aqueous systems it reduces friction, boosts scratch resistance and gloss hardness, and adds no extra co-solvent while preserving clarity.
