Bio-based powder defoamer for water-based two-component building material formulations.
Two-component building materials typically combine mineral-based dry-mix mortar with water-based or powder dispersions. This blend develops thixotropic flow, stabilizing large bubbles and trapping air.
Excess or oversized bubbles lower density, hurt construction performance and strength, and create surface defects.
BYK-1693 SD is a high-efficiency, bio-based powder defoamer for mineral dry-mix mortars and hybrid systems that include water-based or powder dispersions. Its polymer/vegetable-oil combination provides rapid, durable defoaming throughout processing. It reduces bubble content, improves fresh mortar performance, and strengthens hardened systems. Versatile in use, it is especially recommended for two-component waterproof membrane systems.
